This image was taken from the Home of Jerry and Cindy Foote in Kanab, UT, on the night of September 14, 2012. It includes a number of cataloged objects. IC 1274 is the bright, circular nebula located to the upper right of center. To its left is a much fainter circular nebula named IC 1275. Between those objects is a wide dark lane designated Barnard 91. The bright filament area left of center is designated as NGC 6559. The prominent, snake-like thin dark lane to its right is Barnard 303. IC 4685 is the area of nebulosity around Barnard 303. This nebula complex in Sagittarius lies slightly more than one degree ENE of its more famous and much more frequently imaged neighbor, the Lagoon Nebula (M8).
